Introducing Batson University (or as we call it “Batson U”). This unique program offers a course titled Rod Building 101 that teaches students the art and science of building custom fishing rods while building valuable life skills and character along the way.

An industry leader in fishing rod blanks and components, Batson caters to fishing enthusiasts and artists who build handcrafted, custom rods. Rod building is not only a rewarding experience—nothing compares to catching a fish on a rod you built yourself, it is also a time-honored tradition to be passed onto the generations.

Batson strives to carry on this tradition building the next generation of rod builders by introducing students, teachers and their communities to fishing, rod building and craftsmanship.
